Hardness Test

The methods used include microhardness for characterization of microstructures, Rockwell tests and high-load Brinell test HBW10/3000. Because the hardness test is easy, quick and reliable it is frequently performed and correlated with other characteristics. With long products the hardenability of the material is often determined by establishing the hardness distribution along a rod following a tempering and quenching test (Jominy test). Zwick’s product range contains testing machines for all required hardness testing methods and includes automated Jominy testers.
