Long-travel extensometers are used to determine yield points when testing thermoplastics and for measuring strain at break with rubber and TPEs. Both mechanical contact and optical systems are available.
Long-Travel Extensometer
This extensometer is used for direct strain measurement in tensile and hysteresis tests on specimens with medium to high extension.
The optical extensometer is particularly suitable for reliable, accurate measurement in tensile and hysteresis tests on highly ductile, highly elastic and contact-sensitive materials.
